Mixing of PBAT and PLA

Why mix PBAT with PLA? PBAT is designed to break down quickly - even faster than organic matter such as banana peels. Ironically, the higher the plant content, the longer it takes to compost. Therefore, PBAT is blended with PLA to increase the rate of biodegradation. In addition, PLA itself is a stiff and brittle material, and PBAT is added to PLA to add flexibility and strength to the overall material, making it suitable for its purpose.
