Modified PE

The modified PE are mainly chlorinated polyethylene, chlorosulphonated polyethylene, cross-linked polyethylene and co-modified varieties.

Chlorinated polyethylene: A random chloride obtained by partially replacing the hydrogen atoms in polyethylene with chlorine. Chlorination is carried out under the initiation of light or peroxide, and is mainly produced industrially by aqueous phase suspension method. Because of the molecular weight of raw polyethylene and its distribution, the degree of branching and the degree of chlorination after chlorination, the distribution of chlorine atoms and the degree of residual crystallinity are different, we can get the chlorinated polyethylene from rubbery to hard plastic. The main use is as a modifier of polyvinyl chloride to improve the impact resistance of polyvinyl chloride. Chlorinated polyethylene itself can also be used as an electrical insulator and flooring material.

Chlorosulfonated polyethylene: When polyethylene interacts with chlorine containing sulfur dioxide, some of the hydrogen atoms in the molecule are replaced by chlorine and a small number of sulfonyl chloride groups, resulting in chlorosulfonated polyethylene. The main industrial production method is the suspension method. Chlorosulfonated polyethylene is ozone resistant, chemical resistant, oil resistant, heat resistant, light resistant, abrasion resistant and has good tensile strength. It is an elastomer with good all-round properties and can be used to make parts of equipment that come into contact with foodstuffs.
