PE Resin is a linear polymer, belonging to the polymer long-chain aliphatic hydrocarbons, and it is a very flexible thermoplastic polymer because the -C-C-chain is a flexible chain, linear long chain. Due to the symmetry of the molecule and the presence of nonpolar groups, so the intermolecular forces are small. The spatial arrangement of polyethylene molecular chains is planar serrated, with a bond angle of 109.3° and a tooth spacing of 2.534x10-10 m. Due to the good flexibility and regularity of the molecular chains, the molecular chains of polyethylene can be folded repeatedly and neatly stacked to form crystals.

 

 

PE Resin is non-toxic, odorless white powder or granule with milky appearance and wax-like feel, low water absorption, less than 0.01%. Polyethylene film is transparent and decreases with the increase of crystallinity. The water permeability of polyethylene film is low but the air permeability is large, it is not suitable for fresh packaging but for moisture-proof packaging. Flammable, oxygen index is 17.4, low smoke when burning, a small amount of molten droplets, the flame is yellow and blue, paraffin odor. The water resistance of polyethylene is good. The surface of the product has no polarity, it is difficult to bond and print, it is improved by surface treatment. Its resistance to photodegradation and oxidation is poor.

 

PE Resin molecular weight is in the range of 10,000 to 100,000 Those with molecular weight over 100,000 are UHMWPE. The higher the molecular weight, the better the physical and mechanical properties, and the closer to the level required for engineering materials. However, the higher the molecular weight, the more difficult it is to process. The melting point of polyethylene is 100～130℃ and its low temperature resistance is excellent. In -60 ℃ can still maintain good mechanical properties, but the use of temperature in 80 ~ 110 ℃.

 

Insoluble in any known solvents at room temperature, soluble in toluene, amyl acetate, trichloroethylene and other solvents in small amounts above 70℃.
