Transparent films, such as bread bags, have been dominated by LDPE because it has better cloudiness. However, blends of LLDPE with LDPE will improve strength.

In addition, LLDPE's high resistance to stress cracking makes it suitable for injection molding of molded lids that come in contact with oily foods and rotomolding of waste containers, fuel tanks and chemical tanks. There is a smaller market for applications in pipe and wire and cable coating, where the high rupture strength and stress crack resistance offered by LLDPE meets the requirements. 65-70% of LLDPE is used to make film.
