• Oil and aging resistance at high temperatures

The hydrogenation of NBR greatly improved its heat resistance and heat and air aging resistance. N?Sandland et al. made a comparison test between NBR, chlorosulfonated polyethylene (CSM), chloroprene rubber (CR) and Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber, and NBR, CSM and CR were obviously not suitable for working in high temperature (150℃) environment, while HNBR vulcanized rubber showed excellent oil and aging resistance. The change in elongation at break of HNBR specimens immersed in hydraulic steering oil for 1000h at 180℃ was lower than that of acrylate rubber. The service life of HNBR vulcanized by peroxide was 1000h and its working temperature reached 150℃, while that of NBR and CR was only 106℃ and 101℃.

• Physical and mechanical properties

The tensile strength of hydrogenated nitrile vulcanized rubber is generally up to 30MPa, and ZSC is up to more than 50MPa, which is higher than FKM, NBR, CSM and other rubbers. the compressive permanent deformation performance of Zetpol2010 at 150℃ is better than FKM and fluorocarbon elastomer (TFE/P) in different degrees, while NBR cannot work at 150℃ at all. HNBR also has excellent Wear resistance, the wear test of HNBR with NBR and FKM in petroleum medium at 150℃ shows that the wear resistance of the former is 2~3 and 3~4 times of the latter two respectively.

• Resistant to chemical media and ozone

Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber is resistant to acids, alkalis and salts at high temperatures and can work in lubricant and fuel oil media with strong corrosive additives. When simulating the acidic liquid/gas media environment of deep well extraction in oil field (gas phase: 5% H2S, 20% CO2, 75% CH4, liquid phase: 95% diesel, 4% water, 1% corrosion inhibitor), the experimental curve shows that FKM, TFE/P and NBR cannot withstand the acidic media environment at high temperature, but HNBR shows the best performance. The results of static and dynamic ozone resistance tests of HNBR specimens show that no ozone cracks appeared in the specimens after 1000 hours, showing excellent ozone aging resistance.
