What are the factors that affect the performance of meltblown products?

The performance of meltblown products mainly refers to the physical and mechanical properties, such as product strength, air permeability, fiber diameter, etc., because of the complex meltblown process, so there are more factors affecting.

On-machine parameters: Parameters that can be adjusted as needed during the meltblown production process, such as the melt extrusion volume, melt temperature, temperature and initial speed of the stretching hot air, receiving distance, etc.

Off-machine parameters: Parameters that can only be adjusted when the equipment is not running, such as the shape of the spinneret hole, the size of the stretching hot air channel, etc.

 

Should I choose polypropylene with a large MFI or a small one?

• Low MFI: Higher strength meltblown nonwovens can be produced.

• High MFI: high yield and low energy consumption. Therefore the current trend is to use higher MFI feedstock.

• The earliest application of PP Resin for Melt-blown Nonwovens with a high molecular weight and a low MFI (12g/10min).
  As technology progressed, PP Resin for Melt-blown Nonwovens with an MFI of 12 was soon replaced by polypropylene with an MFI of 35, while polypropylene designed for use in meltblown processes emerged with MFIs up to 1500.
