Physical and Chemical Properties

• Odorless, tasteless and non-toxic. It is the lightest of the commonly used resins.

• Excellent mechanical properties, including tensile strength, compressive strength and hardness, outstanding rigidity and bending fatigue resistance, movable hinges made of Polypropylene Granule can withstand more than 7 × 107 times of folding and bending without damage, poor impact strength at low temperatures. tensile strength of PP is generally 21-39 MPa; bending strength 42-56 MPa, compressive strength 39-56 MPa, elongation at break 200% ~ 400%, notched impact strength 2.2-5 kJ/m2, low temperature notched impact strength 1-2 kJ/m2. 400%, notched impact strength 2.2-5 kJ/m2, low temperature notched impact strength 1-2 kJ/m2. rockwell hardness R95~105.

• Good heat resistance, continuous use temperature up to 110-120℃.

• Good chemical stability, in addition to strong oxidizing agents, does not interact with most chemicals; at room temperature solvent does not %20 can dissolve PP, only some halogen compounds, aromatics and high boiling point aliphatic hydrocarbons can make it swell, water resistance is particularly good.

• Excellent electrical properties, good resistance to high frequency electrical insulation parts, also has good electrical insulation in the humid environment.

• Since there are many tertiary carbon atoms with methyl groups on the main chain of Polypropylene Granule, the hydrogen on the tertiary carbon atoms is easily attacked by oxygen, so the weather aging resistance of PP is poor and anti-oxidants or UV absorbers must be added.

• Mice were gavaged at a dose of 8g/kg for 1 to 5 times, which did not cause obvious symptoms of poisoning. Rats inhaled the decomposition products of polypropylene when heated to 210-220℃ 30 times for 2h each time and showed symptoms of irritation of eye mucosa and upper respiratory tract. Same as polyethylene, it is prohibited to use its recycled products for food.
