Thermoplastic polyurethanes are known for their outstanding abrasion resistance. Polycaprolactone TPUs have properties that fall between polyester-based TPUs and polyether-based TPUs. Polycaprolactone TPUs are resistant to fuels, oils and water.

Polycaprolactones are a specialized structural unit of high-performance polyurethane elastomers. Polycaprolactones have a relatively narrow molecular mass distribution and are modified to make specialty polyether polyols. The polyol component of polyurethanes made with polycaprolactones results in relatively low glass transition temperatures in the flexible portion of the polyurethane. These materials have good resistance to hydrolysis.

Products Properties

80 Series products are thermoplastic polyurethanes based on polyester poly (caprolactam) esters and are thermoformable thermoplastic polyurethanes. They have excellent low compression set, high strength, hydrolysis, low temperature and oil resistance. These products can be injection molded, and extruded.
